Attended a course on Creative Thinking today. I thought the following few questions were quite interesting. Try it, think out of the box. Its not some funny lame questions/answers shit. I believe it will really put you to the test unless you have answered them before that is.

90/10 Principle

Discover the 90/10 Principle.

It will change your life (at least the way you react to situations).

What is this principle ? 10% of life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react.

What does this mean? We really have no control over 10% of what happens to us.

We cannot stop the car from breaking down. The plane will be late arriving, which throws our whole schedule off. A driver may cut us off in traffic.

We have no control over this 10%. The other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%.

How ? ....... By your reaction.

Let's use an example.

You are eating breakfast with your family. Your daughter knocks over a cup of coffee onto your business shirt. You have no control over what just happened.

What happens next will be determined by how you react.

You curse.

You harshly scold your daughter for knocking the cup over. She breaks down in tears. After scolding her, you turn to your spouse and criticize her for placing the cup too close to the edge of the table. A short verbal battle follows. You storm upstairs and change your shirt. Back downstairs, you find your daughter has been too busy crying to finish breakfast and get ready for school. She misses the bus.

Your spouse must leave immediately for work. You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school. Because you are late, you drive 40 miles an hour in a 30 mph speed limit.

After a 15-minute delay and throwing $60 traffic fine away, you arrive at school. Your daughter runs into the building without saying goodbye. After arriving at the office 20 minutes late, you find you forgot your briefcase. You day has started terrible. As it continues, it seems to get worse and worse. You look forward to coming home.

Why ? Because of how you reacted in the morning.

Though I cant say I've been practicing it all the time, I think a good 80% of my day to day stuff I've been applying this principle. To good effect of course.

Just got back from Honkie Land yesterday. The weather was good, too good to be exact. Both of us got 3rd degree burnt on the Disneyland day. We called off our Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car Ride on the second day due to the massive queue. Went to Citygate Outlets instead, a must go if shopping is the main purpose of you visiting HK. Some pretty good deals there.

I guess it was like a good 11 years ago that I first played soccer in Primary 6. Was a total noob back then, knowing nothing much about this world famous sports. Fate must have certainely played a part cause for some reason (which i cant remember), I own a pack of cards with soccer players inprint and their profile etc on it.

It was then out of nowhere that I picked out 2 cards from the deck and handed one over to my bro. I remember telling him sumthing along the line of ' You'll support him'. His card reads 'Gavin Peacock - Chelsea FC'. Well, my bro turns out to be a basketball person instead. Haa.

No points for guessing what my card reads, but that's how I came about supporting this team for the good past 10 years. Watching players donning the famous red jersey, from low profile players like Butt, Irwin, Scholes, Blanc, Teddy, Solskjaer etc to high profile kinds like Ruud, Beckham, Rio, Cantona and now the unstoppable C.Ronaldo.

Who can also forget those that tried but didn't really make it. Players like Bosnich, Taibi, Veron, Kleberson, Forlan.

I'm not those 'Support Man Utd cuz they are Champs' kind fans for I roughly know past players like Denis Law, Best, Duncan Edwards, Bobby Charlton. And the Munich air disaster, I've even a Official Man Utd poker-sized card on it.

Alright, enough of this Man Utd thing, glad that my gf also supports Man Utd. For what true reason I dunno but I guess is cuz of the Number 7 now. Haa.

To me, Number 11 will always be my hero. The Welsh Wizard.

Lots of fun really can be drawn from a manual transmission car. But to be pratical, it suit me no more. I've grown old (more mature in some sense) and less daring in recent months. Haa.

Love at first sight is the phrase I'll use to describe Mazda 3 when i first saw it. However that aint the case when i first saw Latio at the S'pore MotorShow 05. I felt it looks rather squarish and small. It never even trigger my interest enough just to peek inside.

Roughly 2 years have passed. I'm looking at things from a different perspective now. What seems good might not feel tat good after some time whereas what looks normal initially .. might be a gem in the hiding.

I hope I've found the gem. But of course due to budget constraint la. haa.

Alright .. its our 2nd time spending V-day together .. and its really quite a huge contrast frm last year ..

This time around .. I've got Peg the Chef to cook for me. wahha .. and i tell you the standard of tat cow she dish out is on par with some cowhouse outside. Serious. Im not saying this just cuz she cooked for me and she's my gf.

Hazi .. I accidentally dropped my 200+ DKNY watch this morning at 3+. It hit the door of my cardboard before landing on the floor with a THUD!

Picked it up and saw no scratches which is good. I always take good care of my belongings. But!

The chrome numbering for 4 O'clock on the display dropped! Fuck bitch. And the side of the glass display shows hint of crack.

I was careless. What to do. Worst thing is, I lose interest easily in spoilt or defect stuff.

Its our 4th sighting of fireworks in year 2006. haa .. First one being Countdown 05 at Esplanade. Second one was at KL which we happened to chance upon it from our hotel room. Third was the one displayed by the Italians which we watched during the jam at AYE. And the last was on the 8th which happens to be our 7th month together.

Now that England is out, my vote will go to Portugal. haa .. sounds abit crazy but i like the way they play and you never know, they might just nick it against France. Though judging from their performance against Brazil tat day, its gonna be real hard.

England, a team tat has been overrated & hyped up by the media. But its true that they do have some of the best players on earth in their respective position. Players like Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand .. and the list goes on.

Watched almost all their matches so far and I dare say only Owen Hargreaves and Ashley Cole can be real proud of themselves. For they are the only ones who really perform when it matters.

Frank Lampard, the heartbeat of Chelsea, is playing like a man lost on some funny island. Totally disappointing. Chelsea must have feed him some kinda performance herbs.

Its gonna be tough yet fun. Long irregular working hours + the high stress level. I've total confidence in myself to pull through.

Reporting work tml at 545am for airfield inspection stuff. Meaning to say gonna wake up around 430. Holy banana. The 3am world cup match will still be on. hah.
